You would have starved around our house growing up. Pinto beans were a staple.

you fry a lb. of bacon,
then fry a bag of hash browns in the bacon grease till they are browned nicely.
when they are done, add about 8 oz. sour cream, some sliced green peppers and 2 cups of grated cheese.
Mix this all together really well.

Then heat up flour tortillas till they are pliable.
Fill the tortillas with the potato mixture and roll up like a burrito. Put seam sides down on your baking sheet and spray the tops of the burritos with butter flavor crisco. Bake at 350 for about 15 minutes or until the tortilla starts to brown a little bit.

That's it. Keith has two friends spending the night (actually, I'm beginning to think they might be moving in permanently. They've been here for 2 or 3 days now. LOL). One of the boys smothered his in hot sauce. Everyone else ate theirs as is. They've LOVED them!!

I had oatmeal for supper
Margie this sounds great. Fatting, but great. You need to post in the Chef's Corner.

I like potatoes anyway you fix them.

If you were going out to eat with a group of people, what would be the one style of food that you would put your foot down and say "I am NOT going there!"?

For me, I will NOT go to a German/Polish (or Polock/Krout -which I am allowed to say since I AM that, nationally speaking) restaurant.
Ditto

Meanwhile, fast food and grocery store beef continues to contain Beef Products' ammonia-doused processed whatever

Did you notice also sold in grocery stores?

The steaks we buy at our local meat market are practically mooing!

Even the birds are way beyond anything found in the grocery store! ("Is that duck done yet ma?", "Nope and I don't think he will be. I keep lighting the match and he keeps blowing it out.")

yeah, I am not a fan of curry, the spice they use so much. I can eat it it but not my favorite.

I guess I would have to say raw meat (fish) so I've never ate sushi. not for me. My steak I like med rare though, but it isn't totally raw.. ewww just thinking about sushi makes me ill.

Otherwise, I will eat most anything put in front of me. I love every vegi out there....and beans.. yeah, like them all. I just like food in general.

Oh, almost forgot..one other thing I have to say I didn't like after tasting was humas? something like that....and tofu. If I need protein, I will eat meat.

Re: LEAST favorite food?

About the only thing I can think of that I hate is pine nuts. I used to love Pesto with pine nuts. Found a one lb bag of the them at Sam's and decided to buy them and make alot of pesto.... I ate about half of them before I got home and got terribly sick. I get sick now just thinking about them...

where is the village idioT thread???

Re: LEAST favorite food?

Ok besides fast food not being a fav, I am not crazy about cheap ravioli, pizza, spaghetti... Now all those can be pretty good at an upscale place, but I will veto most pizza joints or places like Fazoli's.
