You are exactly right. I was told by my spouse at the end of our marriage how much he "loved" me. Those words were very, very hollow, considering that for years I had lived with feeling unloved, actually more to the point, had lived with feeling hated.

I love the point of this thread, because sometimes people do have trouble expressing themselves, but whether the words are spoken or not, you can usually always feel love.

I think it's great you can say this and take ownership like you have. Apparently, your wife and daughters don't trust you quite yet. Keep at it though and don't lose your temper or you go back to square one.
