You are exactly right. I was told by my spouse at the end of our marriage how much he "loved" me. Those words were very, very hollow, considering that for years I had lived with feeling unloved, actually more to the point, had lived with feeling hated.
I love the point of this thread, because sometimes people do have trouble expressing themselves, but whether the words are spoken or not, you can usually always
feel love.
