Re: Why was my Christianity in Question?
I might not question their Christianity on the first vote, but after seeing many of these people for what they are (Godless, atheistic, anti-Christian, pro-death zealots), all subsequent votes for them cause me to question the depth of true religion in the voter.
The fact is that Obama had a history before he ran for President. However, many people did not choose to investigate him at all. When he was in the IL legislature, he voted 'Present' on a substantial number of bills. He rejected and opposed vigorously bills that would preserve the life of a child who was born alive in at an abortion clinic. He was implicated in the Tony Rezco scandal that brought down the IL governor and other Chicago politicians.
He has been less than honest about his views on gay marriage. He very quietly and subtlely promotes it via backdoor policies and failure to enforce laws on the books.
He also does not disclose that he is in fellowship with men who are strongly predjudiced and bigotted toward people of other ethnic backgrounds. Rev. Wright was only one of these men, and through him Obama is connected to the also. Rev. Wright endorsed and supported the racist views of the Nation of Islam and Louis Farrakahn. Rev. Moss replaced Rev. Wright as pastor of the church and also holds the same views. All of these men have links the the Black Power movement that gave us the likes of Malcom X and the Black Panther Party. Obama walks in hand with them.
These are only the tip of the iceberg. Not included here are his ties to domestic terrorists, more or less inactive now but unrepentant. There are also questions of his views of Jesus Christ, God, and the church.
I would be inclined to question the veracity of a 'Christian' who can seperate their Bible from their politics. We are called to be Christians first, and then every part of our lives are to be affected from there. When we seperate what we are from what we do, we engage ourselves only in self-deceit. The Bible makes no such distinction.
