Jacob= supplanter or deciever, Jacob, I don't think Jacob was any more righteous than Esau??? Jacob showed his greediness and selfishness, why did God seem to love him more than Esau??? Or back to the original question?

i just showed that the word hate of the time had different meanings, and one has to use context to examine what is being said.

look at what i posted about rachel and leah, the same word yet Jacob didnt hate leah to a point he didnt sleep with her. cmon there is some applicable common sence in this.

do you also understand what a hyperbole is?

hy·per·bo·le/hīˈpərbəlē/Noun: Exaggerated statements or claims not meant to be taken literally

its expressions in writings. and the author of genesis stated jacob hated leah.

but it was not a hatred as we use today like muslims hate christians and want to kill them .... No it was a Love less

I love rachel more than i do leah.
so it has to be used in the context which is given, same goes for your point as well. i even showed you the lexicon definitions for some added spice

Ok, now I think I understand what hyperbole is. An example of Jesus and hyperbole would be....

Joh_14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

I think you're missing the point. You want hyperbole when you need hyperbole and you want hate when you need hate.

Re: IF God is Love...

EVERYTHING in the bible is literal. When's the last time someone plucked out their eye or cut off a limb? Afterall, Jesus said to do it...
