I will hear those sermons and songs my whole life. Seeing my boy really enjoy Christmas morning and get giddy over "Santa" leaving him gifts will only last a few more years really.

It all starts at home.

I'm in the same boat, with a 7 y/o and 4 y/o. Nothing like waking up Christmas morning and seeing their expression. They also love going to church. We have a Christmas Eve service planned and will probably go. But, family time at home and abroad is important, especially around holidays...

Re: Feels Odd This Morning

I owuld be upset that I missed if the sermon that morning turned into a standards sermon. Not because I really need to hear one, but because I would be intrigued as to how it would relate to Christmas at all!

Further, I truly doubt there will be much in the way of visitors since it is CHRISTMAS MORNING! Why have the meeting if there is little chance of there actually being visitors there?

It would be in "Thus saith the Lord" fashion. Haven't you figured that out, yet?

May not be Catholic, but you're as Pagan as the rest of the "Christians" who worship in a building. Aquila made a good comparison recently about how worshipping in a building has pagan roots vs. real, authentic Christianity being taken to the streets and "the message" spread in homes as opposed to a building.

So, when are we taking a trip to Stonehenge? May as well go visit the most well-known site of paganism in the world since some people are all about knowing the roots and origins of so many things labeled as "evil."

Not full blown Catholic. Yet if you were to really look at our Apostolic services we still cling to a VAST amount of things the Catholics created and institutionalized for Christianity. We may deny the Trinity and Papal edicts, but we still follow their ideas of buildings and liturgical order.

Aquilla evidently didn't read the Book of Acts? Many great Apostolic events took place in the Temple. God blessed Solomon for building a structure and He placed His name there. Thus the orgins aren't pagan.
