Thanks. I agree. Some of the posts on FB have said they are not real Christians.

This is the same line of thinking I've heard a pastor on this board use for not allowing men to have facial hair in their church.

"They may get to heaven, but not attending my church." What? C'mon now - it's just the pastor's PREFERENCE, so that makes it ok, right?

Many years ago, a bigoted person I knew gave this reason to forbid interracial marriage:

"Noah's sons were divided into 3 races, and one of them was to be a servant (slave) to the other"

OH MY!! It's astounding to think that people who claim to be christians actually believe this stuff! But then again, it does stand to reason considering the spiritual elitism that permeates the OP movement because of "the whole truth". Just goes to show that there will always be some who will justify thinking less of others - regardless of their religious affiliation.

I've actually heard the "what fellowship hath light with darkness" passage butchered to defend this dung.

I actually heard that during the very first Search for Truth we sat through. Although more accurately it was said that Moses's son was to be "cursed", not so much a servant, but it essentially meant the same thing.

Re: Church Votes To Ban Interracial Couple

A black guy from our youth group asked my permission earlier this year to date my daughter (17). I scoured the scriptures, posted here, talked to several men of God close to me and no one could give me any scriptural support against it. So I gave him my permission and they are still together. He is a really great guy and I have a lot of respect for him and his walk with God.

My wife was just informed about 20 minutes ago by her mother that if we intended on him accompanying us to family Christmas at her home this year then we need not attend at all.

We won't be attending.

Its amazing the extent to exclude on race just because they were born black.......

My question is why just them????
