Whose beard was plucked ( Isaiah 50:6)?

He was a Rabbi, he could not be clean shaven. So what if the N.T. does not mention it. It does not change the facts.
Genesis does not mention if John the Baptist wore animal skins.

Messianic prophecy mentions wording along the line that the Messiah's beard will be plucked. I did not look them up. They are not quoted in the NT.
It must not have been important.

Re: Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc.
The reason facial hair has been taught against is that it is not business professional. How many business leaders do you see with a beard or stash? How many have short hair? How many wear a suit?
I work for an International company and have for 21 years and not one executive has facial hair...not one. So is it too much to ask that you look professional?

I was told growing up that beards were a product of the rebellious 60s, thus a Pentecostal should not grow facial hair. That's a much better argument than what you're giving.
What you're advocating here is that we use secular opinion as some kind of doctrine. Sorry, but "please look like a secular business professional" is not doctrine.

Re: Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc.
"I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting." Isaiah 50:6
Interesting that while the Gospels record Jesus as being smitten and spat upon, it doesn't mention His beard being plucked.
Some obviously consider the silence as evidence Jesus had no beard. I side with Isaiah's prophecy even though the NT Gospels are silent.

Are you saying that because Isaiah 50:6 isn't quoted in new testament therefore the prophecy isn't important? Please explain further?

The teaching from silence, could be interpreted by Rabbis that if he didn't have a beard (which would of been customary of Judean men to wear a beard) then he didn't fit the bill of Isaiah 50:6.

Re: Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc.
The problem is it began to be taught as sin over the years.
G.T. Haywood-Seymore-Wigglesworth and others had facial hair.
But now these holier-than-thou folks know better.
Strain at gnats and swallow camels.
Hippies are gone--now it's gays with clean shaven faces and bodies.
Now what?
