Sam, you have indeed posyed what was said in the manual. There were circumstances that took place best not posted on the net that led to this. I am not going to say these things because, A. I was not there, so it would be heresay on my part, and B. It's just not edifying.
Bishop1 was there, if I recall what I have heard correctly. It was the same meeting J. Rex Dyson was made a bishop...if I have heard correctly.

Maybe Eld. Epley can remember something about that group. It's probably been 45 years or so since I heard from them.

"The Emmanuel Church of Christ Oneness Pentecostal"
They still exist in Tn, Ky, North Al. not a very large group but they exists. They had a scandal where th overseer(I forget his name) murdered a street person cut off his head and hands planted the pastor's billfold in his backpocket and set the church on fire and disappeared but later was caught it was the news of the decade around Nashville. I do not think they really ever bounced back. However that congregation(which was the mother church) is On Lebanon pike around Old Hickory.

It was in Southern Living and many periodicals when it happened in the early 80's. I can't think of the preacher's name? There are more than one congregation around Nashville that were part of this congregation. There is another large congregation North of Nashville close to Goodlettsville they changed the name a little but still included Church of Christ on it and the Oneness Pentecostal. I forget the first name? I think in her heyday Nina had about 40 churches or so and SHE ruled the roost. They were very worldly when not even the Trinity Pentecostals were worldly. She taught sanctification the second works of grace and I think(I could be wrong) took water for communion?

I do not remember what their feelings were on communion. Our resident historian Bishop 1 has talked to me about the history of many groups, including that one. Also, I have documentation I collected for a book I have never written but would very much like to someday about 20th Century Apostolic History, which included some info. about the group.

My memory could be faulty but I do think they took water for communion. Elder Pat Abanathy of Athens, Al. who founded about 5 churches in Tn. & N. Al. also taught water for communion. He was a holiness preacher. The churches at Columbia, Tn., Athens, Al.,Trinity, Al. were founded by him. He had NO association with Nina's group. Also there is a black Apostolic group out of Florida City, Fl. that teaches water for communion.

There was a church in Michigan that reportedly used water. I say reportedly because I was never there for a service to ask about their communion practices. I knew folks related to them.

Also SHE ruled all the pastors and would move them and place them. At one time they controlled all the properties. My pastor who never was customed to 'shucking someone's corn' shucked her corn at Columbia at a anniversary service when I was a boy. She came in all dolled up with her dolled up bunch and 'hogs got butchered' that night. I'm sure she never forgot it. She had taken several folks out of that assembly and was coming I guess to get some more. She got it alright but not what she came for. I was there as a boy.

I don't think we need to be talking about something that happened over 30 years ago. The reason I posted that was because there was mention of Boyd Lawson not being a part of the CoJC (Kingsport, TN) since 1975. The manual is available to the public and it confirmed the 1975 date. We can let it go at that.
