A legalist would be someone who abides by the "letter" of the definition, rather than the "spirit" of it...LOL!!!!

Come on: Legalism involves those who are looking for as many rules as possible in the letter, with an utter disregard for the "spirit" or for principle. They aren't looking for loopholes to get out of the rules. They're looking for more rules within the holy writ, so they can add to their lists.

This twisted definition of legalism ain't flyin'. Common usage and context does come into play, like it or not.

Go to court and see just how many loopholes a true legalist is looking for in the law.

How about just bringing out scripture.Sandra simply stated that the AOG in Australia which once stood against the consumption of alcohol as does the
Southern Baptist association and a number of other church organizations
has decided its okay to consume alcohol.I think its a let down and a mistake
and sadly disapointing.
Supposing, just supposing, I wanted to "bring out scripture" for you, what is it you want me to find? Proof that God doesn't care if we drink or not? Proof that putting more restrictions on people than the Bible does is wrong? Something else?

All while agreeing to disagree, of course. But you called me lazy!!!! (Not that I deny it!)

Australia is close to America. It is not cultural to drink wine or beer there.
