You're over simplifying. The man was speaking against perceived evils of America playing God. I'm willing to consider that his sermon ended on a note of how it doesn't have to be this way.
You're willing to consider? Do you have an actual quote on how his sermon ended, or do you just have another one of those 'gut feelings'?

The point he is trying to make is that the point JW was trying to make in his sermon is that the USA isn't an innocent victim in what happened on 9/11. We have done more than our fair share of bombing other countries and killing innocent people to sit back and pretend that we haven't contributed to the hatred our enemies have for us. We operate under this notion that everyone else in the world wants to be like we are, so we make a point of trying to bring democracy and our way of life to the rest of the world, by force if need be. Get it now?
Rico, he went way over the line if that was all he was trying to say.

"White man has beaten down the black man for centuries, and God is showing his wrath! Yes, my black brothers and sisters, the white man will pay for what he did to us!!!
And now we end the service in prayer. Dear Lord, protect my white neighbors and harbor them in safety until we meet again. Amen."
Yeah, that prayer just makes his sermon go away, doesn't it?
oops... H1 just hit a home run.

Rico, I fail to see how WWII and the bombing of those cities are Biblical either.
I am going to explain this to you just once. The Bible teaches we reap what we sow. The US has a history of meeting deadly force with overwhelming deadly force. JW used our bombing of Japan during WWII as an example, in his opinion, of the US going overboard in killing innocent people to win a war at all costs. Add the other things mentioned in JW's sermon and it isn't hard to see where he got the notion that 9/11 was the start of us reaping what we've sown all over the world. Hence, God is judging America, etc. etc. CH gets the connection JW is making in this sermon and is trying to get the people on this board to see that connection as well. I hope I have summed it all up for you.
Oh, please, CH. That's like saying God called you to the dinner table. This is a discussion among equals. You aren't here to mentor us or persuade us to higher Christianity. You're here expressing your personal opinions just like everyone else.
LOL!
Let him have another bowl of chili!

Oh well now we are getting somewhere. Clearly Chris is as off base as Jerimiah Wright.

War is an abomination that brings judgment upon all involved. In war there isn't a good guy and a bad guy....both have to commit atrocities to win. God can use a war to judge both nations involved simultainiously as each grinds the other's children in the war machine.
Christians...we are Christians. We a not of this world...and neither should we be it's pawns on the battlefield...especially when the judgments of God are among us. We do well to pray for God's mercy and peace that we might advance the gospel....not to take up arms and defend our land. Most soldiers believe they are fighting for right regardless of what nation they serve. The average German soldier believed he was preserving his people and culture and prayed to God for life and victory. Likewise the American soldier. Imagine two Christians meeting eachother on the battle field each attempting to kill the other...each over the earthly interests of their respective earthly nations.
Not so among those who are truly yeiled to the Spirit.
