Not that I agree with everything RDP has posted, but Sis. Alvear's argument adds much to scripture. She claims Phebe and other women were preaching next to Paul, even though scripture says no such thing. I have yet to see anything which proves her point about the women of the early church. It's just not there. All which has been given is personal conjecture, speculation, wishful fancy. Nothing proven by scripture.

BUT...I'm sure this will continue on another 50 pages, and perhaps there's something which hasn't been argued ( ) which could clear up the roles of the women in the early church.

For now, I'm fine with women teaching or preaching (my favorite is Vesta Mangun), but I do not believe any women should be a Pastor, or in any leadership position which places here above other men.

Actually much is from things I have copied over the years and I would have to look up the references...and I don't have a lot of time...right now am preparing a test for my Bible school students...

Strange thing happened yesterday. I have been giving a series of lessons on the tabernacle. When I got up to give my lesson the spirit of prophecy came over me and for over an hour I spoke to the church....a very rare thing for me... You talk about no one moving....

So according to our dear brother I was ok yesterday but of course am not ok tonight because am teaching Bible school....

Which has absolutely nothing to do with what the Bible clearly says. I do not form my doctrines on human experience (you start this & you'll soon become Catholic: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stigmata#Specific_cases), but rather the "sure word" of God !


Sorry Sis. - Think I'll stick with the Bible & let you have your anti-biblical revelations .
