I spend my time and get my sermon material from the Bible.
I can appreciate what you're saying, however what about people who want to know what our doctrine is? That's why we have Articles of Faith and so forth. We need to do a better job of clearly stating what it is that we believe. One thing that hinders us from addressing that is our own political turmoil.

So, when a researcher goes looking for what we believe; right now they probably won't find the cross.

BINGO!!!

I think you can read it or download it.
Why don't you just go to the store and slip a copy under your coat?

Add up the sermons at General conference on "Standards of holiness".

Add up the Sermons at General conference on the "Crucifixion"

The revivial and the standards out number them by plenty.

Because their theme is what makes us different?

We have "The message" Acts 2:38.

We are set aside in the favor of GOD, "Standards".

Yet they have never reached any sunstained level of "Revival".

Why because they have missed the real message "The Cross of Calvary".

Without the Cross you have nothing to put the power in Acts 2:38.

To them that believe it is the power of God.....

You want revival in your churches.

Keep preaching you are the relevant movement and we will "have" revival in 2008.

You will preach the same message in 2009.

Preach the cross and the rest of God follows....
Exactly. Thank you.

Brother Haney went to bro. Kilgore in Tampa asking him to preach one service. Bro. Kilgore declined, saying that he had purposed to not preach anymore campmeetings, conferences or special gatherings. Bro. Haney continually pleaded with him to reconsider. Finally, Br. Kilgore consented to at least pray about it.

He went to his hotel room and earnestly prayed that if it be God's will for him to preach that he then would do so. While he was praying, God gave him a message.

Saturday, he preached the Cross. He gave the assembled preaches there a challenge: "If you will preach the cross of Jesus seven consecutive messages to your church, you will see a change come upon your church."

Much later after the conference, he testified that he is getting calls from all over the U.S. from pastors who took up the challenge and is now seeing a move of God in their churches unlike anything that they have ever had before.

It's the CROSS, ladies and gentlemen. It's the CROSS. There IS a crossless christianity. But, that form of christianity is only a form of godliness with no sustaining LIFE, having no power.

The preaching of the cross is both the power and wisdom of God.

I believe it! I believe it! I believe it! Herein lies the harsh spirit that has overcome some in judging others. We have moved ourselves and our doctrine too far away from the cross. You can't get close to the cross and not feel the love, mercy, and grace of our Savior. You can't get close to the cross and not feel a love and compassion for mankind in their distress. We have been so casual in carelessly tossing men into hell. Especially those who don't agree with our explanation of "truth". Spending time at the cross will cure you of that spirit. Take me to the cross and I can find my way home from there!

They have no problem putting out Tithing challanges. Pay your tithe for 3 consecutive months.

Sow a seed into the ministry etc.

But they do not sow the seed of salvation and miracles as ministers.

They need to do their part and preach Jesus and him crucified.

The bible states he was crucified before the foundations of the world were laid.

He was crucified before his word....

So take them to the cross and then teach them your stuff....

The scripture shares how we can live an overcoming life.

Pick up your cross and follow him.

If you look at Acts 2:38 the Death (Repentance) Burial (Baptism) resurrection (Holy Spirit).

The bible says to die daily, it does not say be buried daily.

The power in your own overcoming life is to pick up your cross and follow him.

Die daily, do not be buried daily....

The emphasis was selected before time:
before planets were spun:
rivers were flowing:
tree's were sprawing:
fish were jumping:
insects were crawling:
Lions were roaring:
deer were panting:
birds were soaring:
The Chicken or the egg:
Humans were walking.

The Cross of Calvary was chosen for our path to salvation.
