I have been thinking today, about how proud some of us are that we're Apostolic.
At times, it even seems like we think that being thought of as Apostolic, is more important than being thought of as Christians.
Is it possible to be caught up in being more of something, that we forget our purpose?
We can be too "religious" and miss the point. When religion becomes a social circle with a governing body and multiple rules and regualtions then it does away with the Grace of God and becomes just another governing body.
If one actually believes a true Christian to be one who follows the teachings of Christ and further believes those teachings include the response to the Gospel given in Acts 2:38 then it would seem that 1+1=2.
True story! A few years ago we were having a mens meeting to discuss a few issues, the main one being the leaking roof. As the debates became more heated I mentioned we were not acting like Christians. One of the older men stated " Well we aint Christians we are Pentecostals". I was speechless and I guess everyone else was also since noone responded to the remark.

Blessings, Rhoni
And we lose the message in the process, that it is Jesus we are to follow, not men.

Acts 11:26
And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.
and it's in the book of Acts IsolatedSaint
I didn't say that the term Christian wasn't used, and you have to look at the whole weight of scripture and when you do you will find that the term "saints" was overwhelmingly used in referring to believers.
And you have to look at who was calling them christians and that it was used in a derogatory/by-word type of context. I believe that the term "christian" is way overused in this modern day, I mean here you have a word that was only used 3 times in the whole bible and yet everything today is "christian this christian that".
