That krap has always been around. It just happened to reach the information age and more people are exposed to their garbage.

I stand by my statement ITS DYING ! SANDRA
Sorry Sandra you are simply wrong.

The GS may very well been saying "in comparison to the way things once were... we are not getting the applications..."

However you wish to interpret - help yourself - but we have had a handful in our own church that fit the description apply and get license in the last few years.

Irr, you jump into a red hot thread with strong opinions on both sides then make novel observations like this?

Give it time, friend. The vast majority of us here have been blessed immensely by the brethren here on AFF.

Most of us HAVE reached out to our neighbors. And this is not a Trinitarian bashing board - in spite of a few that may fit that description.

Please relax and take time to get to know us.

Blessings,

Steve Hoover

NEVER in my life have I heard anti-trinitarian statements come from the pulpit. Maybe from the pews but not from one of my Pastor's. I've never been told not to fellowship with other denominations. As a matter of fact, we frequently, as a church attend functions of other churches and vice versa.

As my Pastor frequently says, none of us have ALL truth. We all have a measure of truth and we can all learn from each other.

I guess I've just been blessed to attend churches and have Pastor's who were more kingdom minded than small minded. ( with emphasis being put on Jesus and reaching the lost) So please don't paint the whole organization with the same broad brush. We aren't all the same.

now that is refreshing!!!

Re: The UPC is a dying movement!

When will the elders let the next generation be the next generation?

The UPC has about 15 good years left and it will be no more. Look aound guys, it was said in the general conference last year, all you see is gray and bald heads, there are very few young men voting.

I have talked to some 20 year old preachers and this what they say "Why do we need to pay dues to an organization that is going to dictate to us what we have to preach when it comes to holiness standards, why do we need the UPC to build a church?

Some of you guys may walk around with you head in the clouds thinking everything is great in the UPC, but my father who has been to many meetings in high places has told me its a big concern, the guys at UPCI HQ knows there is a problem with the younger generation.

The next generation tried to have church like the thier generation wants to have church and look what happen at the last youth congress two years ago.

There is a problem in the UPC, but the sad thing is the change may come too late.

Yes because the thread title is false.

Not saying there isn't some merit, but the statement is not true at face value.

Maple Syrup,

Any chance you are going to be rejoining the UPC in Canada to help jumpstart this growth?

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Wasn't this from the ST "Genesis" movie? What was the name of it? Well, maybe as long as there is some life, there is yet hope.
