Re: It's Friday Afternoon-What Are Your Weekend Pl

My original plans were rather mundane. Work Sat day and a wedding in the evening.( previous dept manager) And work on Sunday as well.

BUT, Friday evening I was standing at the kitchen computer planning to read my email and get things ready for the next day. I suddenly felt really dizzy and started to grab the side of the microwave hutch (used as computer hutch now) and didn't make it.-----crash----- My husband came in to see what the noise was.
I had passed out and fallen back, hit the dining room table and in the process moved the table so that the chair on opposite end fell over.
I came to on the floor with hubby asking what happened.

I was still dizzy, and it lasted another 15 min or so. Even tho' I never go to the dr I knew this was not a good thing. My husband drove me to the ER.

I suspected stroke due to family history of same.

They did lots of tests...EKG, brain scan, blood work.....nada found. I was kept overnight and they did a stress test and echo. My heart behaved perfectly with every test. They could not find any cause. I was sent home about 1:30 Sat afternoon.
Since you get no sleep in the hospital, I took a nap.

Since I'd heard all of the wedding planning for the past year, I HAD to go.
It was very nice.
Lutheran, and the pastor had a really nice sermon and encouraged them to pray for each other every night. He had the parents and grandparents stand and basically pledge that they would pray for the couple as well. I thought it was a nice gesture.

Although I wasn't sure what to do, I did go to work Sunday.

I'm supposed to make an appointment with my regular doctor now for followup.

My family (all of them ) are amazed that I even went to the ER since they know my record (or lack there of) of seeing the doctor.

LOL. Well, you said that you don't ever go to the doctor, so you may still need to go get some courage.

Seriously, I'm glad everything checked out okay. That must have been scary.

I had a CT scan of my head, once. They didn't find anything.

Re: It's Friday Afternoon-What Are Your Weekend Pl

It was very scary!

My sister reminded me that a similar thing had happened to my dad.
Mom,dad and my sister were returning from GC in Salt Lake City sometime in the early 80's. My dad must have been about 65 or so.
They had stopped for the night on the way back and the next morning gone to a small local cafe for breakfast.
Without warning my dad passed out and fell out of their booth. Taken by ambulance to a small local hospital.
Many tests run.....AND nothing found at all.
As far as I know it never happened again.

He lived till he was 80. (We think it was a heart attack) Mother saw no need for an autospsy.

He also never went to the doctor!!!

Re: It's Friday Afternoon-What Are Your Weekend Pl

Friday night we had a community worship event. We had 4 other churches in the community, non-apostolic, come togetehr with ours and we had a worship event/concert. We had a black Baptist church and three Charismatic/non-denom churches come.

It was a great night. And although I do not for one moment think they were in truth, most of the people involved all had amazing spirits and attitudes. Even the mayor of our city showed up.

A few weeks ago, I passed out in the post office. The lady had just told me it was going to be $90+ to mail these two packages to Kenya, and I said, "I think I'm going to pass out." She thought I was kidding because of the price she had quoted me. But I really DID pass out, right there at the counter. It was SO freaky. Five minutes earlier, I had been talking to everyone and felt fine.

I didn't go to the Doctor, but Eddie had to come take me home from the P.O. I laid down with chills and fever for about four hours, was sick at my stomach and then I was fine. VERY STRANGE. I probably should have had it checked out, but I hate to go to the doctor.
