No, I think you're on to something there. Maybe it starts out with a slight smack to the sleepy sheep, and then evolves into full-blown sheep slapping.

Let me go on the record and say, I have never slapped a sheep...just some old goats that had it coming. LOL!

I think some shepherds take their glasses off in the pulpit so they don't have to look the sheep in the eye when they slap them...
