That's one man, not the whole thread, and in that I still did not see insults or accusations.

Re: Talmadge French Heads Home to the UPC
I took KK's post as kind of an insinuation; fact is, no one on here could answer the question, only Talmadge French.
IMO, it would have been better left unposted.

Re: Talmadge French Heads Home to the UPC
KK did the same thing about Mooney when he said he didn't feel God wanted him to take the GS position. KK came on with a few derogatory comments before jumping on the "he did it because of the money" accusation.

Re: Talmadge French Heads Home to the UPC
Speak to the larger issue, how much of people's decision about ministry are connected to their purse? How many pastors no longer feel like they should be at the church they are, but are too "comfortable" living on that amount of tithe. Does this hurt the call of the evangelist? The missionary? How attractive is it to live in a third-world country when our cream-of-the-crop pastors live high on the hog (in comparison)?
On the other hand, I may pick an organization that will lend me more influence than one that would pay me more, but those usually go hand-in-hand.

Another excerpt from the same email from the Bishop to the General Board
reads like a Craigslist add/resume:
"Remember, Bro. Talmadge French was raised in the Assemblies of God and heard the Oneness Message first on Harvestime as Bro. Urshan ministered on radio. He gladly shares the testimony of receiving his own revelation of the mighty God in Christ as he ministers. As well as holding revival services, he teaches on many doctrinal subjects to the churches he ministers in. He is now available for ministry. If you would like to contact him, please call him at 9**-***-****. He may also be contacted by e-mail at………*****@yahoo.com
A man of TFs credentials and worldview has limited opportunities if blacklisted by the mothership.
This idea that ministers, especially, non-pastors and non-salaried ministers, somehow don't factor economics in their decision-making when choosing the circle of fellowship/ is in the least, NAÏVE.
This is classic case of a man who was promised one thing and got another.
He has a responsibility to provide for his family.

I understand, but it's also what concerns me. You aren't in the ministry as a vocation for you to be able to provide for your family. But rather, since you are in the ministry, you seek assistance with helping providing for your family. It's interesting how we sell services instead of ministers not being taken care of somehow.
This creates a marketing game out of the ministry, as your CL style ad shows. And at camp meetings when the "starving evangelists" all come up to hopefully get the tap that they can come preach somewhere. It doesn't sound like NT ministry. Not a criticism, just something I'm hoping mine and future generations can change.

If you were a hot air balloon you would float out of sight. Let's just say he was dissatisfied and let it stand at that. Sometimes we do things then find it wasn't what we wanted..it's always best not to burn bridges behind us. UPCI is a great organization.
