Re: Anger + Sadness = RAGE

Well, it's a start....

The Stanford Police Chief has resigned...but only temporarily during this investigation.

The city manager has not decided yet whether or not to fire the PD Chief.

Here we go. The stage has been set for massive rioting and looting.

I sure hope it does not come to that!

I did read this,
"The protest brought traffic on nearby streets to a standstill as students marched for several blocks, chanting and pounding on car hoods."

Not a big deal - unless it was not their own cars they were pounding on. The whole thing is very volatile at this point.

Re: Anger + Sadness = RAGE

When the Al Sharpton's etc, join the fray, you know the truth will be very hard to ever find. The left is using this tragedy for political purposes to whip up the emotions and change the national subject. This is anarchy and cannot be tolerated, the LOCAL citizens can and should demand a proper investigation.

Just because there is injustice we can't let the emotions rule the day, in every case, this may be a case of misconduct by the security guard or it may be an OJ moment.

Let the investigation be done without all the emotion from the media and the racial agitators from all over the country. Zimmerman has almost no possibility of a fair hearing, in current context. He may have been very wrong, but will we ever know for sure? I doubt it.

Re: Anger + Sadness = RAGE

Newt Gingrich is the only Republican candidate that responded to this issue.

Speaking to Piers Morgan:

"The local district attorney is doing exactly the right thing. He's taking it to the grand jury," he said. "I think that I have faith that the American system of justice will in fact work and that this is why you have a balance between the police and the district attorney."

"I think that Americans can recognize that while this is a tragedy, and it is a tragedy, that we are going to relentlessly seek justice and I think that's the right thing to do," Gingrich said. "That's not a stand your own ground, that's a chase the other person into their ground. And I think you're going to find that the law as interpreted normally doesn't apply to this case."

Re: Anger + Sadness = RAGE

Zimmy made a big mistake when he pursued Trayvon. I think that is going to be what he will be nailed on.

In the actual struggle he may have been in fear of his life and responded with lethal force.

Re: Anger + Sadness = RAGE

Zimmerman told police he acted in self-defense. Police found blood on his face and the back of his head as well as grass on the back of his shirt.

That jibes with what Cheryl Brown's teenage son witnessed while walking his dog that night. Thirteen-year-old Austin stepped out his front door and heard people fighting, he told the Orlando Sentinel on Thursday.

"I heard screaming and crying for help," he said. "I heard, 'Help me.' "

It was dark, and the boy did not see how the fight started, in fact, he only saw one person, a man in a red shirt — Zimmerman — who was on the ground.

The boy said he is not sure who called for help. After a moment, his dog escaped, and he turned to catch it and a few seconds later heard a gunshot, he said.

"When I heard the shot, the screaming stopped," he said.

He then rushed inside and told his sister to call police.

I don't disagree that Al Sharpton and the left are using this case, but each side is using this case to their fancy.

I saw an article where a conservative blogger demanded to see Trayvon Martin's criminal record because he just didn't believe the kid was as squeaky clean as the Sanford Police Department said he was.

This alone fans some pretty emotional flames. It just adds fuel to the perception that conservatives don't think a black kid can be a "good kid" that we all have criminal records and are mindless thugs. We can't act as if the left are the only ones fanning flames of emotion here.
