Ya, i believe it.

Did you guys watch his demeanor in court? He was loopy and very out of it. I think he lived in fantasy-land for so long that when he actually did it, he sent his own system into complete shock. He wanted to be like the Joker, but he is nothing like the Joker.

Re: Hollywood the cause of killings?

I do believe that maybe there are times when people 'snap'. When life becomes too much and they do this kind of thing. But I guess the real question in this thread is about our culture having a higher standard when it comes to movies. Yes, our culture should have a higher standard when it comes to movies, but is Hollywood to blame for this shooting? I don't think so. I think the only person who can be blamed is the shooter and that is only if he is not insane. Did the shooter do this for power or because he is nuts? We don't know. And courts often have a very high standard when it comes to the insanity defense. For example, they said Andrea Yates was not insane but I definitely think she was/is.

Re: Hollywood the cause of killings?

No hollywood is not responsible for this thing. evidence is quite simple. parents can choose not to have cable or watch movies that challenge your faith. The bottom line is you the parents allow things into your home that cause good and bad to happen.
garbage in- garbage out.
healthy intake in-healthy intake goes out.
When I was a kid sometimes the whole family sat around the kitchen table playing a board game or cards.
You have a choice not to bring evil in your home. Hollywood should not be accused of deciding your actions.
accept personal responsiblity.

So this is his parents fault? I think not.

This 'kid' is 24 years old. And while I have 'kids' in their 30s I have to admit that in reality this man is an adult. He made his own choices... We have no idea that his parents ever allowed violent movies. The post above is way off base unless you know this family personally.

We have a son who grew up without TV or movies at all... Now in his fourth year at Texas A&M he has seen every popular show and was at a Batman screening in Houston when this happened.

I have to agree with that statement.

If this guy was born again, he would not be shooting people in movie theatres.

Well, i might argue that it depends upon
one's model of "born again," which I define
as "change your mind, completely, from the ground up,"
and has little or nothing to do with the current Christian model;
and, wadr, I'll cite your hatred of those of a different monotheistic faith
as an example.

You can call anything "hate" as much as you like.
Just because people are being warned about false religions, which leads to destruction,
does not mean that the fellow posting the warning hates the cult worshipper.
Pulling people out of the fire is not hate.

Letting them end up in the fire without warning them would be "hateful".

But hey, believe what you want.
In the end you will find the truth about what is hate and not hate.

You know what is hateful?

This is hateful:

http://www.mrconservative.com/2012/0...ng-christians/

I have not heard of any muslims getting the death penalty in the good old US of A.
We love them so much, they have freedom of religion in THIS country.
We only WARN them about their eternal destination, and you call THAT hateful?
Get your facts straight!
