Re: The Theology of Music

I was reading the original post of this thread and would like to comment on it.

I like modern christian music and will even go see a concert if it is convenient. However, I think music should be kept to a bare minimum in the churches.
There is sooo much flesh and pride involved, (in a "ministry" that has absolutely NO new testament scriptural basis). It has completely taken over the churches. We even have "mood music" to make the congregation happy, and to help the minister, make them repent(using minor keys). I feel I am being "manipulated"(my emotions swayed by the musicians) in service. THATS NOT THE HOLY GHOST WE FEEL, it is "artificial".

If your a musician, I know you dont like what I just said. I am not, but many in my family are and I heard the 'inside" of what is going on in the so called "music ministry"

Re: The Theology of Music

hmm, while i have to agree with the end of your post, and suspect that any 'popular' faith singer is as compromised as any rock star, i have felt the Spirit musically in two different churches in my life--the first was Evangelistic Temple, in Houston, and the second was a church in the old downtown theatre building in Vallejo, CA--a black church (both former theaters, hmm). And i don't like church music, as a rule--my fave spiritual singer is David Byrne.

In reply to the OP, many do not know that virtually all the music you may have access to may be considered corrupted, if the "A" is 440hz rather than 432hz. Seems trifling, huh?

i just grabbed a link, but there is deeper to go here for a serious musician. Peace.
