Hey who called the DA?
There is entertainment media blocking software readily available from Mecca.
sounds good anyway.

and if you know where to look you can get all broadcast televisiion through the Internet (as I just said in another thread) through the Internet on your PC...
making the TV rule also a ban on the Internet since you can't have the capabilitiy of recieving the channels, and with the Internet, you have that capability...

The most hilarious thing is that the television rule contradicts the stated purpose of the UPC in the very same manual.
Quote:

The purpose of the United Pentecostal Church International is to carry the whole gospel to the whole world by the whole church; to establish an effective organized effort; to encourage the opening and establishing of new works; to evangelize the world by every means possible; and to produce and maintain a clean ministry and fellowship.

I think they should change the bolded part to, "by any means that does not offend our uneducated, backwoods brethren"... or something along those lines

I wondered aloud several years ago about how the TV ban would be implemented when a "TV" wasn't needed to recieve TV programming. I think it's an example of the sad knee-jerk kind of reaction that you see from those lacking in wisdom and experience.
And it has done nothing to "maintain a clean ministry and fellowship." Our teen pregnancy rates, divorce rates even our suicide rates are all similar to that of the larger population.

Futhermore, if all the UPC preachers that break the AS and have TV's in their homes would do what is right and NOT vote then there is no way this resolution would pass. It's sad the directionthe org is going. Just my thoughts (and the thoughts of a whole lot of other Godly men).

Does not having a tv make you Godly? Does God even know what a tv is? What makes a man Godly? (God does.) God is a spirit and the Kingdom of GOd is not meat and drink, but righteousness, peace and joy in the HOly Ghost. Right standing with God, peace on earth good will toward men, and joy inspeakable and full of Glory and all of that is in the Holy Ghost. That's the kingdom; not offense, anger, mean spiritedness, division, name calling, arguing., gossip..all that is listed in Galatians 5 as works of the flesh...hmmnn and they that do such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God. Just a thought. Even though I disagree with you, I can still love you.

I believe that God does know what a TV is and I don't believe he has one. Now, my contention is not with everybody, anybody is allowed to do whatever they want and by all means if you are submitted to a Pastor then follow him in his teaching (as long as it is sound doctrine). I'm not bitter toward anyone but I do have a serious problem with UPC ministers that don't uphold the Articles of Faith as they have signed and pledged to do. IMO these men are the wolves in sheeps clothing. If anyone thinks that these men are not liars please correct me.
By the way, Good Morning to Everyone

This analogy is as flawed as an assertion that liberals watch only trashy movies.
