Re: Anger + Sadness = RAGE

The whole story is sad, but we cannot conclude what happened based on the limited info we all have. And the fact that some of the evidence has been doctored by the media to sway public opinion should have all of us reserving judgment until all the facts are in.

What is even more heartbreaking is the fact that 90% of black homicides are committed by other African Americans and that 83% of white homicides are committed by Caucasians and this fact barely makes a blip on the radar. It's heartbreaking that mainstream media serves to stoke racial division rather than report the news. It's heartbreaking that opportunistic people use innocent folks like the Martin family to garner attention and benefit financially from a persona that exists only if racial division can continue.

Our church is multi-cultural and multi-generational. We maintain unity by focusing on the Gospel of Jesus Christ and being about the Father's business.

Re: Anger + Sadness = RAGE

The media can and does sway public opinion by what it reports. One has to wonder what their agenda is to report misleading and factless articles?

It almost has the same effect as yelling "fire" in a crowded theater.

Sad. Disheartened.

Seriously, I am in disbelief and my confidence in our justice system in Central Florida is gone.
Because you are convinced he is guilty JD (despite no nothing that isnt doctored) and no amount of evidence is gonna change your mind ,its obvious IMO.

Re: Anger + Sadness = RAGE

Why be dishearted JD he can still be charged with something but they just don't need a grand jury to do it...My question to you would be will you be satisfied if they cannot find something to convict him on? After all everyone is getting what they want now the case is gettting reviewed with a fine tooth comb and we shall see the outcome...I have faith justice will be done rather guilty or innocent..

JD, that doesn't mean Zimmerman can't or won't be arrested. It just means that the prosecutor will make the call as to whether he'll be arrested or the charges will be dropped.

From the Washington Post:

"Corey previously told CNN she has never used a grand jury to decide on charges in a justifiable homicide case.

“We do a thorough investigation. We make that decision ourselves,” she told the network.

Under Florida law, only first-degree murder cases must be presented before a grand jury."

...She is also known for her tough tactics, in the past locking up criminals for long sentences and making it hard to negotiate plea bargains.

“It would be fair to say that her office, when faced with the choice, files as many counts and charges as they believe they can prove,” A. Russell Smith, a past president of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys and friend of Corey’s, told the AP. “[That] tends to make their prosecutions more complex and expose defendants to substantially more sentences.”

It's a bit premature to lose all confidence. However, when someone isn't arrested because there isn't enough evidence against them, that is our justice system working CORRECTLY; not the other way around.

I would rather there be a grand jury, but at least the case isn't dropped like I thought it was.

Ok, gotta get back to work.

Sanford is the next city north of Orlando. It's about 30 minutes from my house.

What happened to that 17 year old could have happened to me. I wonder who would speak up for me should I become the murdered victim of wannabe cop that was bent on making sure that this time "I didn't get away." Not that I am guilty of doing anything, but because I looked "suspicious" walking home from store with a bag of skittles in my pocket and Arizona tea.

Honestly, I pray for justice to be brought to zimmerman, but I pray that prayer with rage and I know this rage has got to be dealt with in a positive way. It's difficult for me to not be enraged, knowing that in the country that I love and have defended and will defend again, today in America, I am witnessing a grave injustice.

I wish zimmerman could know what it is like to be profiled, hunted, and then killed-- just like he did that 17 year old KID.

I say KID purposely. zimmerman weighed at least 100 pounds more than his victim as he wrestled his victim to the ground, pointed a gun at him and murdered him at point blank range, eyeball to eyeball, just because Trayvon Martin looked "suspicious".( AN ABSOLUTE FALSEHOOD JD, NO WHERE NEAR 100 POUNDS MORE, MAYBE 20)

For this black man, I know all to well what the term "suspicious" really means for some people in our society.

Some people are saying race had nothing to do with this, but I don't see how anyone can see this incident and not acknowledge the race factor.

Then again, most of the people who "don't see race" won't see it any way. They are tired and weary of the false alarms and the stupidity, numb to injustice, convinced that we, as a nation, have arrived to some epithereal post-race place.

With heartache and sadness, I say, "No we haven't."

I ache on the inside for Trayvon Martin and his family. This incident has happened so close to me. So, so close to me.

I wish people would wake up! Our ears are heavy with the false accusations of the past!(AND THE FALSE ACCUSATIONS OF THE PRESENT ALL AGAINST ZIM)

Yet, it's in our America today that the innocent life of a boy was taken by a man-- not a man of the law, but a man flesh and bone who, about a month ago, I would have gladly considered him my brother.

Now, I pray to not be overcome with rage at the sight of his picture, at the mention of his name.

I thank GOD for America.
I thank GOD for the Federal government, at times, the only recourse for the American minority.

I thank GOD that I am not asleep. I have contacted the State's Attorney General's Office, will contact the Federal Attorney General, will protest, will let it be known that I will not let something like this happen so close to me and do absolutely nothing about it!

No, no. I will not be silent.(YOU AND A LOT OF OTHERS SHOULD BE SILENT THIS HAS JUST MADE IT WORSE FOR THE FUTURE)

Re: Anger + Sadness = RAGE

I read whole 911 call the other day. Amazing how people emphasize parts of call painting a certain picture based on their biasness. It's obvious most people don't pay attention to all details on cases like this especially when emotions get involved.

Re: Anger + Sadness = RAGE

Many are going by 911 to say he murdered Martin but after reading the whole call there's no way to prove such with 911 call. Call ends with Zim telling 911 where cops could meet him after he loses Martin.
