She got upset because she thought ***** should pay for the repair because a fridge shouldn't be having problems at only 7 years of use. She got down right stupid with me about it when I told her she would be charged the minimum service charge for the tech to come to her house.
Another lady called wanting to know if ***** was going to authorize the charges for her handy man to come and change out the vent tube in her house. She had one that was plastic and the new dryer she had just bought called for one that was metal. I asked her why she was calling for authorization on something like that and she said 'cause she wanted to know that ***** would pay for it before she got it done. I was still a bit confused and asked again why the company would pay for modifications to her home and she said it was because of the warranty. Somehow, she got it into her head that her warranty paid for this and nothing I said could convince her otherwise. Finally, I told her, "Mrs ***** if you buy a brand new car that car comes with a warranty, correct?" "If, when you get that car home, it doesn't fit in your garage, does the warranty on the car pay for what it costs you to remodel your garage so the car fits?" She STILL DID NOT GET IT! Finally I transferred to the customer relations department. LOL!

I had a friend that worked as a Tech Phone person for Dell I think it was...business professionals would call up and say "My computer is not working"...first thing he asks is "is it plugged up"...answer? hehe.
Others would demand the computer do what it was supposed to do...apparently some just thought all you had to do was bring it home and it did everything

We have one here...certainly better than ITT. I knew someone that was a web design professional....didn't have a college degree, but knew the industry. He was an ITT "professor"...he told me NEVER go to ITT :-)

You know, I bet if you coined that into a catch phrase you could make a lot of cash putting it on coffee mugs :-)

They aren't cheap either. I just got off the phone with one of their reps. $7000 a year. Getting a BS in IT would run me just over $21,000 plus books. I am going to have to really think about that. I don't think it's too much for an education, I just need to be sure I am willing to commit to it before I agree to anything.

I get paid for every minute that I am talking to someone, so that is a benefit to one of these wackos calling. LOL

Do a community college online. You pay a fraction of the costs, and get a reliable degree.

Honestly, I can not see how going to college and providing for my family can be done simultaneously. I tried it a few years ago and things got so chaotic it wasn't even funny. I'm not putting her down because of what I am bout to say because I know the reasons why, but I can not count on my wife to be able to get a job and keep it for very long, so it falls on me to carry the load. It doesn't bother me that it falls on me to be the provider because that is the way God intended it to be. It just frustrates me to no end that I am not doing it in the way I know it should be done. When we moved to these apartments it was supposed to be for 6 months max and it's going on two years now. Jobs around here pay well if you are good at manufacturing and can work 12 hour shifts. I weigh well over 300 lbs. and just can not be on my feet that long. I've tried it and literally had to be helped by my wife and son out of the car when getting home. Again, I just want to find a way to provide for my family adequately, without having to depend on government housing and food stamps. I am so disgusted with the whole thing. I guess I just need to start praying more and pray myself out of this situation.

Rico... you need more than $500 a week to adequately take care of your family.. I saw that figure and chuckled.. I make that w/reg hours and have to work OT to keep a float and I have no debt other than mortgage and car pmt... kids just require a lot to raise.
I think you should go back to school part time and work towards that goal. There are lots of grants or loans out there to help... even to live on while you go to school. You are never too old...it is the only way to demand more money... my ex is 38 and he's been working hard towards his education and will start IUPUI in the fall. If he can.. you can.
