Re: The Seven Spirits of God

I personally don't see a problem with ascribing the 7 Spirits of God mentioned in Revelations directly to GOD.

God is also referred to as the, "Many Breasted One".

GOD is indeed ONE, but HE is a PLURAL ONE and not adequately summed up in one word in any language.

I agree with you that he is one, yet he is a plurality.
He is one God, yet he is 7 spirits.

So the doctrine of the trinity is wrong, yet in a certain way it is right.
He is one, yet he is many.
this is indeed a deep, deep, deep paradox.

Re: The Seven Spirits of God

The 7 Sprits of God:
Love Love Love this topic.... How about these as well?
Job 5:19 "He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee"
Psalm 12:6 "The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times"
Psalm 37:23 "The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way"
Proverbs 9:1 "Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars"
Ezekiel 40:26 "And there were seven steps to go up to it, and the arches thereof were before them: and it had palm trees, one on this side, and another on that side, upon the posts thereof"
Now Holy Ghost is the Spirit of truth, our guide into all truth, I believe the seven spirits of God are seven steps of purification that we can go through. All seven are exemplified in repentance, Baptism, and infilling of the Holy Ghost. It is the initial snap shot of what our walk with God will take us through in much more detail. The first four steps deal with our past and the final three our future. The temple is set up in the same fashion. First step, acknowledging there is a supreme God. We can never enter in to the temple of God if we refuse to recognize there is a God (outer gate of the temple). Then we have repentance, sacrificing our old man, killing him on the altar of sacrifice in the outer court. Forgiveness is next where we wash and all is forgiven us by God our Father. Next step is the door into the inner court, this is the healing of us, this is the stripes Christ took for us, we cannot receive the Holy Ghost without the sacrifice of Christ, and through his stripes we are healed. The wounds we bore into Gods presence are healed and we are made whole. Now our past is behind us and we are a new creature. It is time for our future as a child of God. With a new vessel, God will start to fill it, this is the inner court of the temple, enlightenment (candle sticks), nourishment (shew bread), and communication with God in prayer.
So we have the seven steps of purification. I believe these to be the seven spirits of God, and just as the word is as silver tried in a furnace of earth (our bodies), Jesus feet were bronze in John's vision as though burned in a furnace, because he was our example and in us God will purify his word just like he showed us in Christ.
