There wouldn't be a tree, since no one would want to pay for the water or the fertilizer for the tree.

I dont know about that...

A pastor friend of mine visited a financially THRIVING church in the East Bay of CA. He said they do not practice tithing, but free will giving. All the staff was paid well and the church was quite large.(around 500 members).

Realistically, if you understood that tithing was heresy, you still would not change to free will giving, because you lack the faith that the Lord will take care of your bills. These men are demonstrating more faith than you guys and they are most likely trinitarians.

This is how you view the brethren of your particular congregation....you think they are sooo carnal, that you wont let them think for themselves, regarding giving. You oppress them, using their ignorance of the Word and history as a tool.

These trinitarians are more spiritual that your congregation in their giving and YOU have created that scenario.

Steve,

Is it your belief that non tithers will go to Hell? And how do you know that all five of us are not giving MORE than ten percent?

I do believe non tithes will be lost. I made good friends when I was a boy with a Campbellite preacher he argued against tithes he told me folks should give more than 10% being young I asked him if they did that in the church he was minister? He was candid he said not hardly.

Thank you for being honest Steve. What can I say to that? It reminds me of how far removed I perceive the modern day Apostolic Pentecostal Churches are from the original New Testament Church.

Mourning and lamentations..........

Perhaps you should Google:

Shepherds Conference
Psalm 119 Conference
Fellowship Conference

And about a hundred more.

MTD I'm surprised you had to ask. I've yet to hear of someone Steve Epley says ISN'T going to hell. Well with one exception, Steve Epley. How convenient.

Any time I even think of going back into a oneness org or church all I need to do is read SE's posts and that still small voice says "run away.. .as fast as you can.".

Folks like him run off all us "evangelical type apostolics". That's the stuff cults are made of.

Well I really do understand what you mean. However I would not recommend going the "Evangelical" route. To me they are even more of a cult system than what Steve promotes.

I would REALLY love to find something even close to a New Testament Church.

Re: Question For The Evangelical Type Apostolics

By Evangelical I mean like Baptist, Lutheran, Methodist, Presbyterian, Anglican, ect. The ones who are mainly once saved always saved.

I give the Pentecostals and (some of) the Charismatics more hope than them.

But when it come down to it the difference I have with Steve would be in that from what I can see much of his belief about holiness seems inventions of men.

I myself believe that the very purpose of the ministry is to present every man perfect in Christ. As far as I can tell no one gets in with sin in their life. So Steves kind of groups would probably seem to "loose" for me.

After I worked with my Apostolic Pastor for a year laboring in the word almost as much as he did one day he came out with his view of perfection.

No watches or rings. No beards, long sleeves only for men and women. Dresses only for women and no cutting of hair.

Nothing about the things I had labored to bring. It seemed as if he was putting me to the test whether I would leave.

I did. When I went to his house to say goodbye and why he said "Son I know you're preaching more truth than all those devils in Dayton". "I will be there for you".

Well a few weeks after I started a house meeting the word came back to me that now he was preaching I had started a "goat church".

So yes I know how you feel.

MtD? Really? Surely, you know that 'Mormons' is the correct answer?
