I don't believe you.

Sugar is in just about everything but fat. Keeping sugar under 20grams is what I was referred to as Keto and I did it for about a year. I lost down to my target weight and then my wife had are youngest 3 children. Diets are impossible with a pregnant women and crying newborns. I was doing good to eat anything healthy at all.

Anyone ever tried Einkorn Flour? It is easier to digest, does not spike insulin levels, and seems to be an alternative for those sensitive to gluten.

For clarification, I'm NOT vegan, I eat a mostly plant based diet which includes occasional fish and eggs and vitamin supplements.

I think eating a Mediterranean diet would also be a good choice.

My goal is simply to live my life expectancy of 85ish years while being self sufficient and independent till the end.

And if I'm blessed to be posting on AFF with you sweet people until its lights out that would be a blast.

Re: Meal prepping for the week

The Mediterranean diet is evidence based, and highly recommended by physicians

https://www.healthline.com/nutrition...terranean-diet

Heart disease is a major problem around the world.

However, research shows that the incidence of heart disease seems to be lower among people living in Italy, Greece, and other countries around the Mediterranean, compared with those living in the United States. Studies suggest that diet may play a role.

People around the Mediterranean have traditionally followed a diet that’s rich in plant-based foods, including fruits, vegetables, whole grains, breads, legumes, potatoes, nuts, and seeds.

The main dietary fat is extra virgin olive oil, and people also consume moderate amounts of red wine, fish, poultry, dairy, and eggs. Meanwhile, red meat plays only a small part.

This eating pattern has started to become popular around the world as a means to improve health and prevent disease.

Several randomized controlled trials, which are reliable and effective methods of research, have looked at the possible benefits of this diet.

This article looks at 5 long-term controlled trials on the Mediterranean diet. All of them appear in respected, peer-reviewed journals.
