I am sitting here in my hotel room drinking a freshly brewed cup of Community Dark Roast coffee. Ahhh th life..

It seems that back in March the Bish was spoiling for an argument but got no takers...

Seattle's best can't even get on Louisiana's worst list!

Community Coffee Forever!!!

LOL! That was funny... (we actually ride in t-shirts and long basketball shorts- we aren't like those snobby road bikers with all the gear).

I'm getting ready to go now actually... should be 11 miles this morning!

I too ride 10 to 12 in the mornings but I DO wear the shorts for the chamois that protects vital body parts... of course I wear baggy sweat pants with a rubber band around the ankle over the shorts... NO ONE would want to see me in the shorts without the sweats... my kids say I am a white boy with a ghetto booty!

What kind of wheels do you have? I have a Trek 700 road bike. I love it!

Your batting average has gone up in my eyes.Long live Community.
Louisiana is the only state I know where people keep a coffee pot
on all day long. They run through Mr.Coffees like crazy.I hear Seattles
giving us a run for our money on the coffee.Did cajuns move up North??

Since it is now 1:23 AM, I am off to get some of that sleep....O yeah! Good night.
Try some Starbucks Sumatra decaff or their Espresso decaff. 3 tablespoons in a one cup coffee maker - other than the kick you won't be able to tell the difference.

Just finished a 12 mile ride in 1:13 with my brother... we are riding mountain bikes on concrete paths averaging 9-10 miles an hour.

Both of our bikes are 26" Specialized Hard Rock Sports (mountain bikes). These are at the low end of the good quality bikes and we have been really happy with them. We are trying to bicycle to the grocery store and to the restaurants when we go out to eat too, so I have a basket on my wife's bike and my brother and I both have Toppeak racks with interchangable bags, baskets, etc. depending on what we are doing.

How fast do you ride on the road bike? I've been curious to know what a normal pace is on a road bike... I am assuming at least 15 mph?

Oh, forgot to mention, my wife's bike is a Specialized 26" girl's bike... it is kind of a cross between a mountain bike and a cruiser... I just put some shiny black fenders on it so she doesn't get splashed on, and a wicker basket for the front. She loves it so far. She likes to sit up straight and not have to hunch over.

I average around 17 miles an hour. In Louisiana that is basically a consistent pace. Occasionally I will sprint at 20+ mph. Now when I ride in TN or other more mountainous states I usually average around 14 or 15 mph. Those hills will kill your average going up and don't do much to improve your average going down the other side.

There is a group that meets every Saturday morning and rides from Moss Bluff to DeQuincy. Round trip is about 40 miles and we average about 17 there and back because it is pretty flat.
