Good Morning Everyone!!!
You ever get walk into a room and feel that the people there have been talking about you and your ears start burning?????? FOr some reason this is how I feel right now.
Well, I went to the doctor again yesterday and now they are wanting to put me on one dose of insulin in the evening because everymorning my sugar is too high. And of course this morning it was the lowest it has ever been!!!!!!!!!! Which is good but I don't think it will change their minds unless it can stay that way and they want me to start on it tomorrow. It is just a pain in the neck as well as an added expense and since I wil have to take it the baby will need medication after she is born!! I know it will all be alright, as my doctor says "this is just a minor bump", it is just a scary bump. But I know I have you all as my support group and that helps!! Thank you all for caring and reassuring me through this pregnancy! You're the greatest!!!

Boy, oh boy, QE, you absolutely HAVE to stay in touch with us for the next 20-40 years!! First God has a whole universe of people all praying for this baby. And now look at how hard the devil is fighting to stick his nose in. I'm tellin' ya - God's got something in store for this little treasure! He's gonna do great things with her!!!! I can't wait to see what it is.

you know, I had GD when I was preg with my daughter...my sugar was too high in the mornings b/c I was eating too late the night before and my last meal or snack was something that would raise my sugar and keep it up - like milk or something.
all it took was eating earlier..and not eating something with sugar or carbs...

That's kinda what I was wondering also, because I know I have been eating too late most of the time and half of the time it is high in carbs (but usually within my limit) or I will eat a low sugar ice cream bar right before bed. I was hoping they would just say "be more strict on your eating before bed" but I got the one doctor there that I don't like so, I think it is just his judgement which never seems to be very good. I wish I could have seen a different doctor. I go tomorrow to see the consultant and to start the insulin - I'll see what her thoughts are, maybe I should request another doctor's opinion. My levels have been very low both times I have it checked today.

milk will raise your blood sugar and keep it up during the night....
my dad used to drink milk and eat graham crackers before bed to keep his from dropping too low
type 2 and gestational diabetics can regulate their sugar almost completley by diet and exercise....If your sugar was over 200 or more all the time, then maybe insulin - but if it's not and its only in the mornings, I'd seriously consider a 2nd opinion
too much insulin is bad for you too...

Mine is usually only in the lower one-hundreds. They want it in the 90's. The highest it has ever read was 164 and that was when I ate pizza and I ate a little more than I should have.

I'd try leaving off the late night snack or whatever before I started the insulin. I became borderline diabetic while pregnant, and my doctor just put limitations on my diet.
It seems to me that diet changes could take care of it if it's no higher than what you've said.

Well, I am meeting with a diabetic counselor today and I am going to see what she thinks - this morning my levels were low once again!!! THey have been staying low ever since he told me to go on insulin!!! THe bad thing is I had to go ahead and buy the stuff, but my insurance will reimburse me for it so,.....we'll see.

Good morning, Gabbies,
Can't stay long because I still have work I need to finish. But I had to get online for a few minutes. And you know how it is - you can't get online without checking here for just a quick minute Is that an addition, or what!! Well, if it is - oh well!! You all are good addiction
I do daycare in my home. Today I find myself with no kids. Imagine that. One of my girls cae down with the flu overnight. Another of the girls has a sister who got sick overnight. Another isn't here for the whole week. And..... Anyhow, I ended up with no kiddos today. Actually, that's a good thing tho. I have this funeral DVD to finish. And the family has already ordered a total of 8 copies of it. So it's not hard, but it will take a little while to finish. Then I think maybe I'll treat myself to lunch somewhere I've earned it!
The other thing I have to do today is get ready to speak at a local church here on Sunday morning. They want Walt and I to come and tell the story about his miracle. I'm not keen on speaking in front of people. But I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to give God the glory and honor that He deserves for this. Pray for us as we prepare, will you? Thanks!

Margie I am praying for you and Walt - I know you will be anointed and will bless many with your miracle story. Any time we lift God us, he will be there to bless.
I too, am just checking in. I have had a busy couple of days, we are almost finished with our kitchen/ bath remodel. We are having guest over this weekend for Gumbo, so I have to clean up the mess!!!!! Needless to say, between cleaning, shopping and cooking I will be busy. Hope I can check in with you all later.
