Heard one preacher (now a district superintendent) talk about the unrichable searches of Jesus Christ! He was plain excited.
Heard another at bible college describing as "over easy" the yolk of Jesus Christ.
In chapel, no less!
A preacher gave his all in a sermon about taking the Kingdom for the Lord, and describing the angel of the Lord with Joshua. He was doing fine and came to a point in the message expecting some hearty "amens!". After repeating himself three times and being a little puzzled why folks were grinning and nodding instead of shouting he said one last time, "the Lord said to Joshua, "Take your feet off! You're standing on holy ground", !

By the third time I would have given new meaning to "rolling in the isles"!
The pastor of my youth was teaching on Deut 6:4 and talked at length about phylacteries.
The only problem is that phylacteries wasn't the word being used. Rather than phylacteries we heard a lengthy teaching of how the Jews wore prophylactics on their right hand and forehead. LOL

Quite a few years ago when I was still a youth, I preached at a youth service at The Church of God Our Savior, which was a storefront mission in downtown Cincinnati. I quoted the words of God to Moses as, "Take your feet off, Moses." When I realized what I said I corrected it by repeating, "Take your feet off, Moses." I don't remember outright laughing and guffaws but I felt pretty embarrassed as repeated it correctly, "Take your shoes off, Moses."

I have a relative who meant to comment in his sermon about finger sucking Christians. Let's just say he mixed up the letters from the two words when he actually said it.

I did not realize I said this until after when someone told me, but I was describing an experience where a woman came to our church having heard of the Baptism of the Holy Ghost. She was attending a church that did not experience this, and she wanted it. So she came out on a midweek Bible study. We prayed for her to receive the Spirit afterwards, and she fell to the floor. I MEANT TO SAY that I put my hand on her chin and she started talking in tongues, but what I actually said was I put my mouth on her chin and she started talking in tongues! What was on my mind was her chin and mouth and my hand. And it all came out wrong.

I don't remember the subject matter, actually I don't think anyone in the congragation did because we were all trying very hard to contain ourselves and not snicker, but I remember a senior pastor once trying to make an emphatic point with a hand gesture. You know how sometimes you will curl your pinky and ring fingers while leaving your middle and index fingers extended when pointing or lightly tapping the pulpit with your middle finger? Well, he only left his middle finger extended... What was really funny was that he continued to do this over and over again for a few minutes. I don't think he even realized that he was flipping everyone off. What ever point he was trying to make was totally lost on me.
