Fact is, we call it 3-steps, but it's really more than that. I even heard one preacher call it 7 steps! At least he was honest.

I suppose he's talking about Pentecostalism in general? He did say "Oneness Pentecostalism" though, so not sure...

Re: NOW, When Is Someone Saved?
I was saved when I called on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and asked him to save me from my sins. I was five years old and that night I was filled with the Holy Ghost - AFTER I asked Him to save my soul.
When I was 19 years old, I was baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ. I was an ordained minister and was already saved and filled with the Holy Ghost.

I was filled with the Holy Spirit WHEN I called on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and asked Him to save me. I don't know what took you so long!

Re: NOW, When Is Someone Saved?
Only God knows when someone is saved. NOW is not even close, nor is any other person. There are no steps, it is very simple. Why do we spend so much time arguing about what others consider saved? And lets face it, no one likes to be told they are wrong over and over. Believe what you believe, tell others about Jesus Christ, the ONLY way to salvation.

I don't say this mean-spirited at all. I just really worry about people that put commands in front of Grace -- PARTICULARLY, demanding that people speak in tongues to be saved.

Belief in Christ and repentance are commands as well as water baptism. Doe you consider them to be works as well?

That's not what happened to Paul or the Samaritans, or the disciples at Ephesus in the book of Acts. They were not filled with the Spirit immediately WHEN they believed. Why do you assume differently?

I was intentionally vague in order to get some response.
In French's book he documents the existence of nearly 30 million OPs.
The qualifying questions were "Do you baptize involking the name of Jesus?" and "Do you teach speaking in tongues is a sign of Spirit baptism?" even if the majority in the UPC are three steppers, I think they are among the few OPs that are.
