Bro Joel Velie has gone on to be with the Lord, I'm not sure how many years now. He and his family attended the McClures Church when it was Bible Truth Church.
His Widow, Sis Billie Velie is now attending Bro David Myers church. She still looks beautifull, not a grey hair in her head. She is a tall, stately, beautifull woman with a beautifull spirit to match.
His Son, Kevin Velie, who is like a Son to me, and was my Son Jason's best friend when they were growing up and also goes to the Myers church.
When Kevin and Jason were growing up, Kevin Velie was the only young person who never faltered. He is a man who truly has walked with God since he was a baby.
I remember one night the young people decided to sneak out and meet up for some foolishness. Kevin refused to do it. The next service Pastor made all the young people sit down off the platform (they were in the choir) all except Kevin. He would not join them when they wanted to do wrong.

Wondering if the McClure mentioned above is the same one who pastored a small church in Terrell, TX (east of Dallas) around 20 years ago (give or take). Never remembered the first name and I wasn't part of the church there at the time. But, I've always heard of a Bro McClure pastoring there.
