He that believeth AND IS SAVED shall be baptized

Repent FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ....

Thats the key. We are to be baptized INTO the name. INTO does not mean "by the authority". It is by his authority we are to be baptized INTO JESUS CHRIST.

Jesus Christ THE PERSON not merely his name.

I could not in good conscience give someone assurance they will enter the kingdom of Christ unless they repent and are baptized in water and receive the Holy Spirit.

And yet thats just INITIAL salvation. One still must overcome and be faithful unto death.

Re: Apostolic 101

(Mar 16:16) He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

(Act 2:38) Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

(Rom 6:4) Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

(Act 22:16) And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

(Gal 3:27) For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

(1Pe 3:21) The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:

Just sayin'....

You're not addressing the view that the blood is applied at baptism.

Todays Church does not operate according to the word. Paul was baptized calling on the name of the Lord.

His repentance took place IN BAPTISM. Baptism ALONE does not save. The two go together.

We are taught our own traditions today and dont pay much attention to the pattern set in the book of Acts.

God can and will baptize people with the Holy Ghost before or after baptism.

John the baptist said i baptize with water unto repentance but the one who is before me who came after me will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.

lets just look at asuza street. That is where the outpour started our modern movement, and at that point none of them was baptized in Jesus name. Majority of them if not all of them was trinitarians from methodist, baptist, etc etc

If it was going to be done in order God would have revealed baptism first then the Spirit, but He did not. Thus the movement of pentacost was born, not out of water baptism but out of Spirit baptism. the other stuff came later.

so to say it was a loan would be to disrespect God. we must not call something unclean that God has made Clean. If you have His Spirit then you are His. according to the word of God

you see all you need is that first line to make your baptism valid.

upon your profession of faith
thats what paul did, that is what the ethiopian did.

after that profession of faith, everything after that is purely a ceremonial envocation.
