His mother patored a thriving church. Son took ovah and, um, it is what it is.
I couldn't have said it better myself!

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."
Quote from Ethel Goss (widow of 1st UPC Gen Supt. Howard Goss) book "The Winds of God"
You guys are ssssooooo helpful. (There was a bit of sarcasm there.)
I understand if you do not want to say anything untoward, however, I am not a young Christian, nor am an unexperienced teenager who needs to be protected from the fact that some preachers wander away from the Word into who knows what. However, I do not wish to accidentally endorse by recomendation an individual whose life and/or doctrine is suspect. Could you please explain what you mean, even if it is in a PM. I would be more than grateful.

Thanks for the link. I asked my Father what he knew about him, and he said that he is about as charismatic as you could get. I guess that might mean that he would be similar to Hinn, Hagin, and Copeland.

Actually I don't think RG is really like any of those guys you mentioned. He is unique.

All of them combined with a few 'prophetic' utterances for flavor?
Hinn's no slouch, in the prophetic utterances department. He predicted, in a trance on New Year's Eve 1989, that Castro would die in the 90s, and that the homosexual community would be destroyed by fire in the 90s. I think RG's record is at least as good as Hinn's.
