My husband doesn't have a pulpit anymore. He prefers to just stand there and preach with nothing between him and the crowd. I couldn't do it, but it works well for him.

We have done away with the pulpit. Pastor preaches from the floor instead of the platform. We also have no seats up there for ministers. Pastor sits in the congregation during worship.

I rarely stand behind a pulpit, but I like knowing it's there if I need to hide.

Does he preach from any notes? Does he just hold his bible and notes in his hand?
I like the compromise of not having a big pulpit but a small clear podium to hold stuff.
CC had the big ole pulpit gone for what seemed like at least a few months but I noticed not long ago that it is back. I preferred the smaller clear lecturn.

The ministry is to be given double honor.......Sadly, some of that double honor is no longer even "half honor". Elevation and honor are not the same. Are we working for His Kingdom OR our kingdom? That's the question leaders should be asking themselves.

You see this a lot now.
I guess I'm old fashioned or getting that way. LOL! But I like to see the ministry team on the platform.

We have a small asee thru lectern. I lead worship from it. Pastor just uses his bible and his outline is in his bible. He also use powerpoint some times which he advances with a remote.

The Good Ole Boy Network as someone called it is alive and thriving in "Pentecost".
If you're one of the "good ole boys", faults and even SIN may be overlooked. It's as though if you've got the card and the pat on the back, you've arrived - no matter how many souls you've won, people you've helped or sacrifices made. The "good ole boy" is just that a "good ole boy" and no one in the network should question him because if you question him you might be spurned to question yourself and that would be too scary.
Live in the land of let's pretend where all good ole boys live happily ever after for their works and their works are "to be good ole boys."
No, this is not Rhoni Resurrected...LOL
