You are right. At least I think you are right.

The "state" is given a "sword" by God and the state does not bear this sword "in vain." A case can be made for a just war. It may not always be persuasive in every circumstance, but the case can be made.

I think "some here" would just tend to not be as harsh in their criticisms of the RCC practices as you have been. There are many good Catholic arguments that would show that the practices of that church which you proscribed do not allow idolatry in any event.
