All I have to do to get to heaven is stay holed up in my special little cave in the wilderness somewhere, all alone with only my immediate family (wait..some of them aren't saved..maybe I have to sacrifice those relationships in order to save myself...) and never talk to anyone ever about anything. I can't even go to church because I have to pass by sinners on my way and read advertising that will send me to hell if I even look at it, and surely 90% of the people who attend are going to hell anyhow!
Where's the part about the death and resurrection of Jesus?

This is just a few examples of how conservatives get ridiculed when they express their belief here on AFF. If we conservative say things like these post we would be hammered for it and labeled of having a bad spirit but because we don’t line up to your doctrinal belief its okay for you to make these comments…hmmm…who is the judgmental ones?

Lyrics:
Quote:
When I was wandering in the desert and was searching for the truth .
I heard a choir of angels calling out my name.
I had the feeling that my life would never be the same again
I turned my face towards the barren sun.
And I know, of the pain, that you feel the same as me.
And I dream, of the rain, as it falls upon the leaves.
And the cracks, in our lives, like the cracks upon the ground.
They are sealed, and are now, washed away.
You tell me we can start the rain.
You tell me that we all can change.
You tell me we can find something to wash the tears away.
You tell me we can start the rain.
You tell me that we all can change.
You tell me we can find something to wash the tears.
And I know, of the pain, that you feel the same as me.
And I dream, of the rain, as it falls upon the leaves.
And the cracks, in the ground, like the cracks are in our lives.
They are sealed, and are now, far away.

Iron Maiden - "Rainmaker"
Iron Maiden is described as a heavy metal band. They are not a Christian band. So what is wrong with this song?

You don't think your first post was ridiculous?
You broad-brushed. All music, all Christians.

Re: Christian people listening to secular music
Is there a differnce between secular and wordly music? Can one be secular but not worldly? If someone is listening to sensual/wordly music or watching AI or DWTS star they have some issues.

Re: Christian people listening to secular music
Another *awful* secular song:
Anyway - Martina McBride
You can spend your whole life buildin'
Something from nothin
One storm can come and blow it all away
Build it anyway
You can chase a dream
That seems so out of reach
And you know it might not ever come your way
Dream it anyway
God is great but sometimes life aint good
And when I pray
It doesn't always turn out like I think it should
But I do it anyway
I do it anyway
This worlds gone crazy
And it's hard to believe
That tomorrow will be better than today
Believe it anyway
You can love someone with all YOUR heart
For all the right reasons
And in a moment they can choose to walk away
love em anyway
God is great but sometimes life aint good
And when I pray
It doesn't always turn out like I think it should
But I do it anyway
Yeah I do it anyway, yeah,
You can pour your soul out singin'
A song you believe in
That tomorrow they'll forget you ever sang
Sing it anyway
Yeah sing it anyway, yeah, yeah

There are oodles and oodles and oodles and OODLES of secular songs with uplifting lyrics. It's simply not true that every secular song promotes sin. I have several cds I've burned of songs I bought from Amazon, cds that I can play when my husband and I have (rare) time alone. Every single song is a positive song about marriage, and real love. And they're all secular. Not a single song about how wonderful adultery is, or looking over the fence. I was amazed by how many great songs I found.
