My Politics
If you care to, ask me whatever you want.
This is the one thread where I will answer any political question, based on my true feelings and opinions, and not based on playing the "devil's advocate."

Re: My Politics
how do you feel about eric holder, who stood by and did not arrest the new black panthers who openly, publically and telivized "solisitation of murder" and no one in the government acted on it.
Knowing this is clearly a violation of the law,and nothing was clearly done or said about it. what is your political opinion dealing with this situation. How should have it been handled and how would you have delt with it personally. Thanks

Thanks for the question.
When you get the chance, provide a link as reference point so that you and I are on the same page, responding to the same idiotic statement or action.
As for AG Holder, I think that after AG Gonzalez was forced to resign under the last Adminstration, this Adminstration's AG was going to be a lighning rod for criticism, regardless. I'd like to see a link though so that we can both be on the same page.
In general, I have nothing positive to say about the Black Panther Party or any of the venom they spew.

Now i do want to keep this seperate from the zimmerman case (even tho its related) i am concerned about the act itself expecially in the view of the public Eye.
There is what is called the dominio effect, if one is allowed to do something then others will follow in the same way.
for instance, 2 men at work get into a fight. one hits the other. The man who hit the other man is suspended for 2 days, doesnt lose his Job.
Now 1 week later the owner of the company walks through. One man who is angry over his pay he now understands sees that hitting some one is only a 2 day suspension. In his eyes its worth hitting the owner over his pay. He hits the owner and he is fired.
The man turns around and uses the legal system to sue the company for unfair practices.
so what i am concerned about is the act, which it could have been done by the kKk or any other group. so i dont want to sound like its a racist thing I want to focus on the act and why this current administration allowed it to go on, even with so much media coverage on it.

I understand the emotions behind what happened, and of course the black panther party's response is the wrong response.
The black panther party is no where nearly as funded, organized, and popular as the Klan or other similar organizations and I don't think that this Adminstration (or any other Adminstration in recent history) has taken the black panther party serious. I didn't notice much coverage at all from the mainstream news outlets concerning the black panther party before or after making their "offer."
If there had been widespread and continued violence and rioting in response to the murder, then I am sure the Adminstration would have said more to discourage that.
Still this Adminstration has been criticized for speaking on "state" issues in the past and President Obama was criticized for stating what he said in response to the murder-- for allegedly bringing race into the tragedy and for speaking (again) on a "state" issue.
So what would you have wanted AG Holder or the President to do or say in response to the nearly nation-wide initial disgust at the Martin murder? Remember my disgust, anger, and rage at the initial reports?

i would want the leader of the panthers arrested and charged as followed for solicitation of murder.
while i agree obama got alot of flak for intervening on a state issue there should have been a continued intervening for the threat.

If I was the U.S. Attorney General when all of this hit the fans, I'd acknowledge and empathize with the anger, but I would clearly steer everyone away from violence and re-assure the listeners of my office's commitment to justice, for all involved. My comments would be tilted in the direction of ensuring justice for the Martin family, but it wouldn't be at the exclusion of zim.
Wisdom would require that no one make "political martyrs" out of the black panther idiots while all of this was initially breaking. By not publicly acknowledging the idiots (whatever their race or cause), you take the steam out of their engine.
By keeping tabs on them and other hate groups, we ensure that they don't carry out their deeds. It's easier to keep tabs on them when they're not in the mindset of immediate conflict.

Re: My Politics
What do you see as a hindrance to democracy by the current administration?

Honestly, absolutely nothing.
There is nothing accomplished by this Adminstration and there is nothing that can be accomplished by this Adminstration to stop American citizens from exercising their right to vote.
However, this is a very broad question. Maybe you have something specifc in mind that you would like to discuss.
As always,
I love you Big Sis!

Specifically the arms to Mexico deal, and the President using executive privilege to keep the AG from appearing before Congress.
I love you as well.
