I wish people would say "Do I glory in being blah blah" instead of including all the rest of us with "we"

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

I've certainly done more than my share of criticizing, that's why I posted the thing about I believe in the church.

The problem with WE Apostolics was when a group of men led by a grumpy old man took over

Ok.

I answered his post within the context he posted. Plural.

It is not unheard of that many apostolics glory more in identifying themselves as apostolic than identifying themselves to be like Christ.

But your wish is duly noted and I will try to remember that the next time I post my thoughts.

We are not called to be apostolics. Christ mandated to follow Him. Paul says to follow him as he follows Christ. Most apostolics can't even follow Paul let alone Christ.

The trouble with Apostolics ...they are in denial.

It's like when dad spends a little too much time tucking his daughter in at night, and mom keeps a smile on her face pretending that everything is ok.

Re: The Trouble With Apostolics is...

I suppose in reality there are no different problems with Apostolics than there are with other denominations.

I wonder if those who leave the baptists continue to rant and throw daggers at the baptist church after they have left? Or is that a unique trait of those who have found "liberty" after leaving the Apostolic church? If all one can do is constantly point out problems with the church, maybe they are the one with the problems and not the church.
