I'm making brownies also! Just put the crust in the oven. I make Tri-level Brownies. My son's favorite. Oatmeal crust, chocolate cake and topped with icing and pecans.

My husband had a brisket in the oven and I have been waiting to use the oven all morning! He cooks it in the oven for about 3 hours and then puts it on the pit.

Still have the sugar cookies to go. I hate making them. I hope they turn out okay. So tedious!!!

P.S. Sorry! I was in a hurry and logged out before commenting on how cute your daughter is!!!!! Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas even without family! God bless!

If it didn't cost an arm and a leg, I'd mail you a package from Southside in Elgin. The shipping and handling costs as much as the food package!!! LOL!

My wife just informed me that they have some at the store and we walked right by them on Tuesday...guess I was too busy looking for cheese and haven't spent enough time with an uncooked brisket (but plenty of time with cooked ones!) She offered to cook one if I went and got it...I am seriously thinking about it.

Thanks for the offer My mom sent me a loaf of banana bread when I lived near Corpus and the shipping was $7...way more than it cost to make.

We have been baking since we got up this morning. Oatmeal cookies with raisins and nuts my speciality, Rock cookies my wife's speciality. I did a couple finger foods for tomorrow. We will go over to my wife's son's house to watch her grand kids open gifts then to her nephew's house in St. Charles where all my wife's clan will get together for dinner and open more gifts and play games.. We spent Thanksgiving with my family in Ca. Monday we will be heading back to our house in California. Here's wishing every one on AFF a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Pressing-On made me drool so much I went to the store in search of brisket. They didn't have it, but I got "lomo" instead, which I'm not exactly sure what it is, but it looks kind of like brisket and the butcher said you cook it the same.

Well, we had Christmas Eve at my brother's today. It was great to spend the time with all of my brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews and my mom.

We had cut way down on gifts this year, so my mom had everyone play Bingo and then gave our lottery tickets for every Bingo. It was a howling good time!! Nobody got rich, but we didn't care. We just laughed and laughed and enjoyed being together.

Then we went to church for our Christmas Eve Candlelight service. That was very nice. Keith played a piano solo. Walt, Keith and I played in the Ensemble.

But now my leg has had about enough. Can't wait to put the boys' gifts under the tree so we can go to bed.
