If you want their name, then you type

Type something in the quick reply box. Anything. Blah, blah, blah, whatever. At the beginning of that, put [quote].

Then, after you've typed blah, blah, blah, type [/quote ]. (but don't leave that space before the last bracket.)

Now type two more words. Then hit 'post quick reply' and see what happens.
