Literal Versions VS.Thought For Thought Versions.

Do you prefer Literal Translations To Thought For Thought Translations ?
Which do you deem more correct and why ?

Would prefer The NASB to The NIV ?

I prefer KJV. It's what I've read all my life and when I think of a scripture I think of it in that version so finding it in another version is difficult.

I also prefer to do my own study rather than reading a version that decides for me what the words meant.

KJV for the scripture that plays over in my head from childhood. I prefer for study, Rotherham's Emphasized Bible and others such as Young's Literal Translation.

I enjoying listening to the KJV on CD.I love the flow of the Old English.I leans towards The NASB,ESV,and HCSB for alot of the reading I do.The Rotherham's bible sounds interesting. Also I enjoy the Complete Jewish Bible alot.

To me I seem to get more out of the Literal Translations myself.
