Static Electricity - Okay Smart People!
I had something happen this weekend that was a bit alarming.
I had quite a bit of static electricity built up and when I would touch things in my apartment, of course, it would have that bit of shock.
I reached to turn on my table lamp and didn't even turn the switch yet and as I touched the switch, the lamp bulb actually lit up quickly. Scared me to death, so I didn't turn the switch on.
Can a body have enough static electricity to actually light up a light bulb?

Renda, do you have a humidifier? Extremely dry air can cause static electricity.

It only worked for a flash - - I thought I had blown the bulb, but after I touched something to discharge and turned the switch on - it still worked.
What's ever stranger is right before this happened I flipped the switch (wall) on that turns on another lamp and the bulb did blow on it. That's why I went to turn the other lamp on and it flashed just when I touched it.
I just didn't think it would be possible to have that much static electricity built up that it could do anything, but apparently it can.

I do - maybe it's time to plug it up.
I had on socks and was probably dragging my feet on the carpet. It just freaked me out like it would have The Mrs.!
