To my friends at AFF:
We want to thank all for such abundant kindness bestowed upon us during this very difficult time of Brother Alvear´s accident. Your prayers, e-mails, pm´s and even your offerings were deeply appreciated. THANK YOU so much for your love and concern! We are overwhelmed by how God's people have rallied to pray for our family during our time of trouble. It has been like a cool glass of water in a hot dry desert….
Have you ever had that desperate feeling that you are almost at the end of the road and did not know where to go or who to turn to? We were so tired and weary and physically sick with the load we have been under for quite some time now and then the wreck happened…. Of all the years of missionary work it seemed we were carrying the heaviest burden we have ever carried…thank you all so much for helping us. The love and concern we have felt is deeply appreciated.
Brother Alvear is undergoing treatments here for his leg and his foot that are still swollen. He has a blood clot behind his knee. He is also having treatments at the dentist as the airbag hit him so hard in the mouth that it caused a cyst to form behind his front teeth …In fact he will undergo treatments for some time according to our doctors here.
However in the mist of trials we are seeing new people come to the Lord and new daughter works are springing up. In our city we have two new churches that should be ready for us to dedicate by the end of March. Scattered all over Brazil we are in more than 20 building programs. So it is no wonder the devil fights us so hard. We are not really his favorite people!
Brother Arlei (our son) wrote from the jungle that he is making headway up there too. He is working with brand new people that knew nothing about God prior to his coming. My! What courage he has and we are so proud of him. He moved up there by faith and is living by faith.
Raul Jr is working on several new churches down there in their area and reports of new works in the state of Sao Paulo.
We are also building by faith a little church in the country of Paraguay and another church on the Brazil boarder. In fact the Paraguay church is almost finished.
Saturday we have rented a lot in our village and are having an open air service. We are looking for a great move of God.
At the church here in Maceio we are building 4 more dorms and a dining room for our headquarters church. We hope to have them ready for our regional convention in May. Our sons Ednei and Michael help us a lot in this region along with several national workers that are working full time in the church.
Thank you for your prayers and financial support. We couldn't continue here without you love and partnership.
