Car trouble and Wal Mart!!!

Roomie and I took his car to wal-mart yesterday for an oil change. When we went back to get the car the service dude said "...we didn't touch the car because we heard a strange noise when we started it.." Then he tells us that the car is over-filled with oil.
I checked the motor oil two weeks ago, and it was 1 quart low. I did not replace the quart.
We went to start the car and it made a lot of noise, the car shook, and then it turned off.
We went back into Wal-Mart and spoke with the customer service manager. She then talked to the Assistant Manager. We then talked to the Assistant Manager.
He said "they didn't touch your car... we are not a car lot, if your vehicle is still here after a week, it will be towed."

Looks like another law-suit....

My unsolicited and free advice is that you forget about suing WalMart unless you can prove they put oil in your car. Look at the oil filter and see if it looks new. If you don't have proof, remove the oil filter pour out the oil in it and replace it and drive the car home.

If you have to much oil it will "hydraulic" and basically ruin your engine.

Tow or push it to another mechanics place and get it checked out.

I agree that unless you have a few million dollars we are not aware of I would not attempt to sue Wal Mart.

I don't think you coudl find an attorney to take the job on commission because the chances of winning or even getting a settlement are slim to none.

I think the advice is good to check and see if there is a new oil filter in the car as a clue as to whether they really touched it or not.

I am not a mechanic but if it was overfilled by a quart or two I think it would smoke but I am not sure it would be making loud noises, shaking, etc.

A female relative of mine recently "guessed" that her oil was a little low so she brilliantly just poured two quarts in it!!!!! The car smoked like the dickens and the check engine light came on. She had a mechanically minded friend check it out and when he found out what she had done he drained the extra oil out and the car was fine.

Some Wal-marts are negligent in the TLE areas.
