A Scripture About The Last Days-What Is Your Criteria?

1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

What is your criteria for something that is the result of a "Seducing Spirit" & "Doctrines of Devils"?

How does one depart from the faith?

I mean in the Apostolic Church some have changed their doctrines, both Con & Lib.

How does one know if one has "departed from the faith" and given themselves to "Seducing spirits" and "doctrines of devils?"

(Waiting for the sparks to fly)

It is a serious question though.

Well for starters those who:

have ongoing hypocrisy evident in their life,

have a seared conscience,

forbid to marry,

command to abstain from meats of every creature,

don't refuse the profane and old wives fables.

Faith is the substance of things...things hoped for, things not seen...things that are eternal and not temporal...every thing in the natural has a significance in revealing spiritual truth. The names, places, events in the Word all have spiritual sense in the eternal things of truth that one must be led by the Holy Ghost in order to receive. Every jot and tittle mean some thing in the heavenly realm. It is when one becomes complacent and settled on their lees that revelation knowledge of truth becomes stagnant. When this happens, doctrines of devils replace the revelation of Jesus brought in by flatteries of seducing spirits. As we approach the day of the Lord, the influx of truth in the revelation of Jesus will increase...those that do not receive it will be seduced into falsities and cunningly devised fables. This will clearly come to pass in the last days....just an opinion

People are already being deceived unfortunately.

I believe a sincere, open, broken, and contrite heart will help to keep ones self from being deceived.

I agree totally Brother Ron..
A broken and contrite spirit is to whom the Lord looks. How a believer receives the Word of truth as it flows in present truth in the revelation of Jesus Christ will determine the outcome...to depart from the faith which is the substance of things spiritual in knowledge of truth and good requires that one was at one time in the faith as to truth but failed to go on in Christ giving credence to various false doctrines and seducing spirits. It is charity that is the bond of perfectness...love to mankind manifested in good works. Love affects and Wisdom teaches...it is the affections of the believer set on Jesus that allows God to work in us by the leading of His Spirit according to his good will and pleasure in fulfilling the will of God giving no occasion of stumbling. imo
