Update on baby Jack, and additional prayer request
We have one more thing to pray for where Jack in concerned.
We had a follow up appointment for Jack with the Cardiologist yesterday. In addition to everything else there seems to be some kind of membrane growing in the left atrium of his heart.
Right now it isn't causing any issues, but if it continues to grow it could block the flow of blood thru his heart and out to his body. That would require open heart surgery to correct.
His heart is fine right now but there are several things all happening that really are serious.
The Tachycardia is the main thing but it is under control with the meds he is on. However this week he got a bad cold and has been doing some wheezing. That requires breathing treatments and the breathing treatment medicine counteracts the heart meds.
Plus one of the heart meds, can cause this wheezing and if that happens then he has to go on a different med that is much more dangerous.
Now on top of that he has an extra vein that enters the right atrium of his heart. This is an anomaly but while rare isn't something to worry about by itself. People live long healthy lives with this Left Superior Vena Cava with no issues at all. But for Jack the complication is that the LSVC enters the heart very close to where the eclectic node that causes the heart to beat is located, and additionally this is also often the same place where the bad eclectic node is. If Jack doesn't outgrow the Tachycardia, they have to kill the bad eclectic node. Generally that isn't a big deal but in this case, its potential proximity to the good electric node leaves room for the procedure to harm the good one. which would require a pacemaker for the rest of his life.
On top of that we now have the left Atrium membrane issue which is completely separate but and while not something that needs attention now, may cause its own life threatening issues at some time in the future.
In the end everything may be just perfectly fine and nothing to worry about, but any or all of this could lead to serious open heart surgery to fix.
The good news is that nothing that has been identified will cause Jack life long problems and once we are clear of these issues (by healing, out growing, or surgery) he will be 100% ok. EVERYTHING is fixable. The hard part is, we have 4 years before we get thru this thicket. And now there are 2 seperate issues that could threaten his life in the short term.
Please keep us in your prayers.

Ferd, we know the great physician. He can perform a work on Baby Jack if it is his will to do so. Sometimes, he prefers to work through the hands of earthly physicians for a greater purpose.
I am continuing to pray for Baby Jack. Passing on this update to the others I have praying for him as well.

Praying Ferd!
I know this must seem like a never ending nightmare, I can only imagine. But I know that you know the Peace Speaker, and His peace truly does pass all understanding.
In Jesus name, I pray for the complete healing of baby Jack!
Re: Update on baby Jack, and additional prayer req
I dont know if it is strange or not but I really am at peace with all of this. It isnt easy and some times it is hard to remain positive, but I cannot help but remember that when I have been at my lowest God has sent someone to comfort me and remind me He walks beside us in this.
Then there are those we have come in contact with thru this. When Jack was in the hospital for 2 weeks, we met a very young couple whos son was born with a heart all but missing one of the 4 chambers. he was only 6 months old and had already had several open heart surgeries. They were so young themselves maybe 20 but I really doubt that.
then when we went back a week or two later, they were there again too. their little guy had gotten an infection from the surgery. we just needed to get the medication corrected.
We are blessed beyond mesure and everytime Jack smiles (and he smiles a lot) I am reminded of the wonder of Gods handiwork.
We pray, we believe and we march on. We do that because that is what we do.
Thank you all for your prayer. It really is the one thing that sustains us all in what ever trial we face.
