Prayer for Youth in Kenya

Fellow AFFers:

I received the following email from a young man in Kenya who posted on my website (www.ELOI.com) and who I responded back to. He seemed so grateful for my response and is very eager for prayer and any reference materials I could send him (I am getting together a packet). Below is a portion of the email I received back from him. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers and/or send him any reference materials, if you feel drawn to. Thanks! --->Fiyahstarter

Hello,
Iam very happy to see that you are very kind to people!
Sincerely it's God's plan, because I was not sure if you will reply my letter as for now may God bless you all so much!!!!
And Iam also sure that it's the wish of God which made me to go to your website!!
My home address is: ERICSSON FRIGUS MWAMRA
P.O BOX 91292,
MOMBASA,
KENYA.
I would also like specific prayers because for now I don't live with my parents because I don't know my father. At first I used to live with my mother and my step father, but last year my step father chased me away from his house claiming that Iam not his son.

For now I live with my church-mate, and he pays school fees for me. He is not employed permanently and therefore sometimes Iam forced to stay at home because of school fees problems. Now Iam in form three in secondary school. Please pray for me and I will really appreciate!

Iam also a chairman of Christian Union in my school and when I get those articles they may help me to know the word of God together with my fellow Christian Union members.
God bless you so much.

Ericsson.

Please be careful.

I'd hate for you to get scammed.

I am so jaded when it comes to helping children in foreign countries.

I will pray!

One cautionary note, some who contact through this way may soon ask for money!

Be cautious!

Re: Prayer for Youth in Kenya

Thanks for the warning. Getting money outta me would be like getting blood out of a turnip right now!!

I am going to send a package of tracts and things over. No harm in that I figure... he might need to hear the message more than I know!!

Again thanks for the sound advice.

Re: Prayer for Youth in Kenya

As much as I LOVE Kenya, and it has a definite place in my heart, I would have to agree with these guys. Kenyans are notorious for asking for money from Americans, who they think are all wealthy (and we are, by their standards). Send the tracts, but if a money request follows, don't be surprised. They are all so desperate for finances; it's really sad.

Re: Prayer for Youth in Kenya

A note to keep you all posted. I sent a parcel of "Godly goodies" to this Kenyan gentleman. He has sent me pics of him, etc. asking that we keep them in prayer. He seems very thankful and sent me the following thank-you email. Please keep him in your prayers. Thanks!
