Finally Home
Well, I finally got to my house. We spent the night in Memphis last night; I was just too tired to go any further. We came to Jackson and went straight to church, so I could start through the pile on my desk. LOL! We came home this evening, and I've been unpacking and doing laundry, but decided to take a break and check in with AFF, since I haven't been on much in the past two weeks.
Let me just say that the trip to the Alvear's house was the highlight of my trip! I loved their whole family (and there's a BUNCH of them!). I felt so at home, even though most of them don't speak English. The food was amazing and the church people were so sweet. I definitely want to go back again! If anyone has the chance to go, you should definitely visit.
I also got to see the wonderful Jewish scroll that MOW gave to the Alvear's - what a beautiful and sacrificial gift! They will cherish it forever.
Anyway, it's good to be home. 12 days with no husband is TOO LONG!

Re: Finally Home
Welcome back, I know you had an awesome time with the Alvears.
I suggested a parade or a BIG welcome home party in your honor.

Re: Finally Home
...and what a sweet guest Sherri was...our kids loved her and our people too. As I said on another thread she really blessed my 2 boys that live here telling the story about Eddie´s dad.
I don´t know why but we have had several blackouts in several states tonight...it is late and am headed to bed...

Re: Finally Home
It's amazing to me just how small the world has become! Glad you were able to visit them and enjoy the culture! It is so easy to travel the globe in just a matter of days instead of months! I am looking forward to a trip sometime to see the Alvears on their soil! May they be blessed above measure!!

Re: Finally Home
Sis Alvear, I had just seen this headline and wondered if you were being affected by this. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091111/...azil_blackouts
Hope everything is okay where you are.

Re: Finally Home
Freaky! I was just in both of those cities. If the power had gone out, we Americans would have melted! Actually the A/C was out in the whole Rio airport when I got there on Sunday. It was terribly HOT!
