So U.S. churches see givings down in bad economy, maybe just maybe the sermons on giving and sowing does not have the power that is preached. Most folks that I talk with are tired of the sermons, the books, the crazy predictions and the lifting that takes place in most services and churches on a weekly basis. If the prosperity, the wealth, the idea that we live in a different economy was a matter of fact churches would not be in the financial stress that is fallen upon them. It is time to meet real needs and put forth real needs from the pulpit and have folks give to a worthy cause and not to expand their own pockets of wealth or to buy a healing.... "The church will not buy it's way out of a recession."
